Right now, our absolute favorite smart TV is the LG C2 OLED, which also leads our list of the best TVs for Sonos Beam. The LG C2 OLED TV’s predecessor, the LG C1 was (heck, still is!) an excellent TV. However, the LG C2 is slightly a cut above it and, of course, the rest (smart TVs, that is) out there.
If you’re on the hunt for a new 4K TV with a jaw-dropping OLED display, the LG C2 gets the nod. It is the best TV for cinephiles and gamers.
The LG C2 is an excellent performer overall, with good contrast, excellent brightness, c and video processing. It has excellent color accuracy out-of-the-box, and an impressive HDR color gamut to produce a wide range of colors. Its viewing angles are decent.
Like the LG C1, the LG C2 has a respectable set of ports for gaming and streaming. It offers four HDMI ports, three USB ports, optical digital audio output, analog audio 3.5mm headphone output, RF (antenna) input. It supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, too.
The good news is that all four of the C2’s inputs are full bandwidth HDMI 2.1. This should keep gamers happy, because the HDMI 2.1 supports 4K gaming at 120fps.
The LG C2’s gaming credentials are further established with variable refresh rate (VRR) and AMD FreeSync Premium, which reduces tearing and stuttering. It is G-Sync compatible. Then there is the incredibly low input lag which is worth mentioning, too.
It’s expected that a high-end flatscreen TV will put in a decent performance with audio, and the LG C2 delivers. The LG C2’s audio is respectable.
When it comes to streaming services, the LG C2 doesn’t disappoint. In fact, most of the big names are here, including Apple TV, Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Twitch, and YouTube.

The Samsung S95B is Samsung’s first QD-OLED (Quantum Dot OLED) TV. It packs as much oomph the Sony A95K QD-OLED TV, the LG C2 OLED and the LG G2 Evo Gallery OLED.
The display nestled between the S95B smart TV’s bezels is awe-inspiring. The color accuracy, however, stands out. Pictures look very real and image brightness is better than standard OLED panels.
Like the Sony A95K QD-OLED TV, the Samsung S95B QD-OLED comes in 55- and 65-inch sizes only.
As far as sound goes, what comes out of the S95B’s built-in speakers is actually decent. The TV offers support for Object Tracking Sound and Q-Symphony with Dolby Atmos.
On the Samsung S95B, action movies, sports and games look smooth and crisp up to 4K at 120Hz. The TV’s Motion Xcelerator Turbo+ feature reduces lag and blur.

The screen is a nice, large, 48-inch 4K display with 120Hz refresh rate. And it’s amazingly colorful to boot. There are also 55-, 65-, 77- and 88-inch sizes.
It has excellent color accuracy, and an impressive HDR color gamut to produce a wide range of colors. An A+ for its wide viewing angles, so you don’t lose too much image accuracy when viewed from the side.
Elsewhere, the LG C1 is also no slouch in the gaming department. Its 120Hz refresh rate and very low input lag should keep gamers happy. The FreeSync support is also an A+ in our book.
If you want plenty of ports, the LG C1 is a good choice. It offers four HDMI ports, three USB ports, optical digital audio output, analog audio 3.5mm headphone output, RF (antenna) input. It supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, too.
Like the HDMIs on the LG CX OLED TV, one of the HDMIs on the LG C1 supports eARC and variable refresh rate (VRR), auto low latency mode (ALLM) and up to 4K 120Hz signals.
The LG C1 supports high dynamic range (HDR) content, HLG, and Dolby Vision. However it lacks HDR10+ support. Not a deal breaker, but worth bearing in mind.
With the LG C1, the South Korean manufacturer promises an outstanding TV – and delivers.
It’s worth adding, too, that the LG C1’s reflection handling is top-notch. Again, this is an OLED TV with good black levels and no visible blooming.

The QN90A QLED TV is also no slouch in the gaming department. It has exceptionally low input lag, a 120Hz refresh rate, and to top it all off, support for variable refresh rate (VRR) technology to reduce screen tearing.
Another massive win for the TV is its audio performance. The speakers on the QN90A QLED TV are not your typical tin cans. They deliver dramatically superior sound. With speakers built into all sides of the TV, you get realistic 3D sound. Samsung’s Object Tracking Sound Plus feature is an A+ in our book. Just know: the QN90A lacks native Dolby Atmos support.
What’s more, the TV offers excellent support for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus, Hulu, YouTube, Showtime and Xbox Game Pass.

It has excellent color accuracy out-of-the-box, and an impressive HDR color gamut to produce a wide range of colors. Its viewing angles are decent, so you don’t lose too much image accuracy when viewed from the side.
An A+ for the X-Motion Clarity feature which makes watching movies on the A90J a pure joy. You’d be equally impressed by Sony’s Cognitive Processor XR which recreates content the way you see and hear in real life.
As a cost-no-object TV, the A90J faces formidable competition from the Samsung QN90A QLED, and the LG C1 (recently supplanted by the LG C2).
For your money, you’re getting a smart TV with an impressive audio thanks to Sony’s Acoustic Surface Audio system. Sony promises audio and video excellence – and delivers.
It’s also worth adding that the Sony A90J is a 4K TV that supports high dynamic range (HDR) content in HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision.
There’s very little to complain about with the Sony A90J, except for perhaps the price tag. If you want to save money, then the Sony A90J isn’t for you.
Overall, the Sony A90J is a worthy splurge, and it offers a TV experience anyone will struggle to tear their eyes from.

The Sony X80J may not offer the same staggering performance as the LG C2 or the Samsung QN90A QLED. However, it’s an impressive smart TV in its own right, delivering a decent performance without burning a hole in your pocket.
Meanwhile, the screen is a nice, large, 55-inch 4K Ultra HD display with 60Hz refresh rate. It’s not the most detailed screen, though. Don’t expect Samsung QN90A QLED levels of crispness.
The Sony X80J comes in five sizes: 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch.
Its low input lag should keep gamers happy; however, the TV lacks VRR technology, and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) feature.
Connections are typical of a contemporary Smart TV: four HDMI ports (one with eARC support), two USB ports and a digital optical audio out. There’s also an Ethernet port.
The one flaw with the Sony X80J, though, is its low contrast ratio. It’s a shame, but not a dealbreaker.
All in all, it might not be the most powerful smart TV out there, but for anyone looking for a smart TV that won’t gobble up their entire stimulus check, this is a decent combo of power and affordability that’s hard to pass up.

Pictures on the TCL 55R635 TV look pretty good. Colour performance is excellent. In fact, colours look lifelike and natural.
Contrast – the difference between the darkest blacks and brightest whites – is good, thanks to the MiniLED technology which enhances contrast. Dark scenes are impressive, too. An A+ for the TV’s backlit performance.
With regard to viewing angles, the TCL 6-Series stacks up nicely to the competition. It has a wide viewing angle overall. So, you’d get excellent image quality even when you view the TV from the sides.
In addition, the TCL 6-series 55R635 has a fast response time and low input lag.
You’ll be hard-pressed to use all the ports the TV boasts. The connections include four HDMI ports (1 eARC), one USB port, an optical audio output, an antenna/cable connector, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 3.5mm connector for composite video input, and an Ethernet port.
There’s a sufficient collection of streaming apps and services on the TCL 55R635, like Netflix, Apple TV, Google Play Movies & TV, Sling TV, Hulu, Disney+, YouTube, and Prime Video. And if you’re hoping to find Twitch, you’re bang out of luck.
One aspect that won’t bother everybody, but still bears mentioning, is the TV’s voice assistant. It isn’t quite on the level of Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa you’d find on the best TVs for Sonos Beam, like the LG CX OLED and Samsung Q90T QLED.
The only real drawback here is the TCL 6-series 55R635’s audio quality. The audio from TV’s speakers is clear and loud enough to fill a room, however, we recommend getting a soundbar, particularly if you’d like the best audio when streaming movies.

We have no complaints with the selection of ports offered on the Sony X900H. In fact, every port you could reasonably expect is on the X900H. The TV has four HDMI, three USB ports, a composite video input, an Ethernet port, one optical digital audio output, one headphone/subwoofer audio output, one RF (antenna) input, and an RS-232 port.
Oh, and for the record the X900H’s integrated speakers are not your typical tin cans. Audio quality from the speakers is very good. Expect good audio quality during while gaming.
We wish the Android interface on the Sony X900H were slightly better. In any case, there is room for improvement.
Now, put all the features together and you get a knockout TV for virtual racing without a problem. You won’t be disappointed, except perhaps by your bank balance after buying Sony’s X900H Smart TV.
So, is the X900H worth the price? Well, yes.
