Samsung makes a big deal about the S21 Ultra’s cameras – and rightfully so. There are four camera setups on the rear: 108MP wide angle camera, 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and two 10MP telephoto lens. On the front, is an Auto-HDR 40MP camera. You get very good images even in low light conditions.

We appreciate that the Galaxy S22 Ultra can capture 8k videos at 24fps, and 4K at 60fps.

Another massive win for the phone is its battery performance. With a capacity of 5,000 mAh, you get a day’s worth of usage after charging, however, this depends on usage.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra has ample color variants than we had envisaged. Phantom Black, Green, Phantom White, Pink Gold, and Burgundy are the colors you can choose from. That said, there are exclusive colors (Graphite, Red, and Sky Blue) which are available only through the Samsung website.

What else should we include? Samsung killed both the 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD card slot, but at least the phone works seamlessly with wireless, Bluetooth earbuds.

Price is often the problem. So, basically, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is one of the most high-priced phones you’ll find right now, especially taking the actual specs into consideration. But is the S22 Ultra worth the startling price? Well, yes.

One of our favorite Android phones is the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, which is also one of  the best Android phones for monitoring your glucose level using the Dexcom G6 app.  

A big part of the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s appeal is its display. It delivers a stunning picture quality with its 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is very bright, too. You won’t have problems viewing maps, images and videos, outdoors in real time.

Its build quality is reassuringly good.

The S21 Ultra is super fast thanks to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset tucked inside it. With the impressive chipset and 12GB or 16GB of RAM tucked inside the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the smartphone truly delivers.

Weighing in at 0.50 pound (227g), the S21 Ultra isn’t the lightest smartphone in its class. 

Meanwhile, the phone comes in two major colours: Phantom Black and the attention-seeking Phantom Silver. There are other colours, nonetheless, including Phantom Brown, Phantom Titanium and Phantom Navy.

Another feature worth highlighting is the phone’s cameras. They are outstanding. The rear holds a 108MP (wide) main camera, 12MP (ultra wide) camera, 10MP (telephoto) lens with 3x zoom technology, and another 10MP telephoto lens, this time with a 10x zoom unlike the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max which manages 2.5x optical zoom. The S21 Ultra’s 40MP selfie camera is excellent as well.

If you want plenty of storage, the Samsung S21 Ultra is a good choice. Samsung has made available three storage variants on the S21 Ultra: 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB. The base model ships with 12GB of RAM. Need more RAM? Well, there is a 16GB RAM variant which costs even more.

The S21 Ultra isn’t without faults (what phone is?). However, the downsides are few and far between. You won’t find a microSD card slot. Also missing on the Galaxy S21 Ultra is a charger in the box — you won’t find this on most smartphones like the Xiaomi Mi 11 and iPhone 12 Pro right now.

With the 5000 mAh battery tucked inside the S21 Ultra, you may likely get an all-day battery performance, however, this depends on usage. Other smartphones like the Asus ROG Phone 5 have moved past the 24-hour battery life and are racing towards a 3-day mark.

Given its solid specs and impressive performance chops, the Samsung S21 Ultra remains the best Android phone for Dexcom G6.
