A respectable set of ports are located on either side of the laptop’s chassis. The right side features two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, a USB 3.2 Gen Type-C port, an input for Gigabit Ethernet and a headset jack. To take care of cooling, MS GF65 Thin has heat pipes and an additional fan compared to the MS GF63.
MS GF65 Thin’s 51 Wh battery will last up to 5 hours on a single charge. When it runs dry, the charger can juice the powerful laptop back up from empty to full capacity in about 2 hours.
There is a minor trade-off — the fans are a bit noisy.

The right edge sports two USB 3.0 ports, one USB-C port, an SD card slot, HDMI. You won’t find a DisplayPort on the laptop.
You might be a bit disappointed with the red accent littered over the Y520. Even the keyboard backlighting is red. We don’t consider this off-putting.
