1. Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (Editors’ Choice)

best laptops for beamng drive

 Check Price on Amazon

Our Editors’ Choice for the best laptop for BeamNG Drive is the The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14. The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is a capable gaming laptop that packs tons of performance at a relatively affordable price.

Wielding an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q GPU, 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage and AMD’s Ryzen 9 4900HS processor, it stacks up nicely to the competition. The base model ships with Ryzen 9-4900HS CPU, Nvidia GTX 1650 GPU, 8GG of RAM and 512GB SSD.

You can upgrade to the ROG Zephyrus G15 which sports GeForce RTX 3080 GPU and AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS CPU.

At 3.53 pounds, with a 12.76 x 8.74 x 0.70-inch chassis, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is arguably one of the lightest and smallest gaming laptops you can buy now.

You’ll be hard-pressed to use all the ports found along the Zephyrus G14’s frame. It has a good selection of ports for gaming and streaming. On the left there’s one USB-C port, and HDMI 2.0b port, a DisplayPort, plus an audio/mic port. While the right side has two USB 3.0 ports, a USB Type-C port and a Kensington lock slot.

With regard to gaming performance, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 can blaze through AAA games at the highest settings just like Asus ROG Strix Scar III, MSI GL75, and Dell G7 15.

What else should we include? Thermal management is spot on. Unlike the Lenovo Legion Y545 and Dell G5 15 SE, the Zephyrus G14 does not run hot while gaming. You’ll find lots of ventilation grilles on the laptop.

However, there are some trade-offs. You won’t find a webcam on the Zephyrus G14. We recommend getting an external webcam if you’d like to stream via Twitch.

You are ultimately getting a gaming laptop from Asus that can last long enough to get some real gaming done. Roughly speaking, you’re looking at about 12 hours of battery life as configured from Asus.

Given its impressive specs and solid performance, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 remains the best laptop for playing BeamNG Drive without problems.

PROS

  • Very good gaming performance
  • Excellent battery life
  • Great audio
  • Cool design
  • Fast display

2. MSI GL75 Gaming Laptop

best laptops for beamng drive

 Check Price on Amazon

Another good laptop with impressive specs for playing BeamNG Drive is the MSI GL75.

Its display is pretty good with excellent brightness and contrast ratio. Viewing angles are good, too.

The MSI GL75 pairs an eighth-generation Intel Core i7-9750H processor with 512GB of storage, 16GB of RAM, and Nvidia RTX 2060 graphics. Need more storage? Then opt for the configuration with Intel Core i7-9750H processor, 16GB of RAM, NVidia GTX 1660 Ti graphics and 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD.

On the other hand, if you’ve got deep pockets, you can also upgrade to one with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics, paired with 2TB PCIe SSD and 1TB HDD These configurations (except the RTX 2060 version) have the same 144Hz Full HD display.

It ranks very high for its gaming performance.

Port selection is otherwise top-notch. On the MSI GL75’s left edge, you’ll find an HDMI port, a Mini DisplayPort, a USB Type-A 3.1 (Gen 1) port, a USB Type-C 3.1 (Gen. 2) port, and two audio jacks – one for a mic, and another for headphones. The right edge hosts a power plug, two USB Type-A 3.1 (Gen 1) ports and an SD card reader.

It’s hard to miss the vents that line the four sides. So you need not worry about cooling. The MSI GL75 has a good cooling setup.

Then, there are the bottom-firing speakers on MSI GL75 which pump out clear sound.

Battery life is just average, so don’t expect its runtimes to stretch into the double figures without taking a booster pack along for the ride.

The MSI GL75’s largest downfall, however, is likely going to come down to the fans. They serve a good purpose, but they can get loud during gaming.

There’s no getting around the fact that the MSI GL75 is an excellent laptop for BeamNG Drive.

PROS

  • Good display
  • Impressive gaming performance
  • Excellent screen refresh rate
  • Good pricing options
  • Very good cooling system
  • Good keyboard with decent travel

  • Average battery life
  • Noisy fans

3. Dell G5 15 SE (2020)

best laptops for beamng drive

Check Price on Amazon

The Dell G5 15 SE is also one of the best laptops for BeamNG Drive. It provides a lot of gaming power at an affordable price.

Its internals are nothing to scoff at – AMD Ryzen 5 4800H processor (CPU), more than enough memory (16GB of RAM) and AMD Radeon RX 5600M graphics processor (GPU).

The combination of an AMD Ryzen 5 4800H processor CPU and AMD Radeon RX 5600M graphics makes it a pretty decent proposition for gaming.

Just know: the G5 SE is a bit heavy at 5.51 pounds.

A plethora of ports, and a plastic chassis that has a more subtle gaming aesthetic are only welcome extras.

The battery life of the Dell G5 SE remains very impressive – by gaming laptop standards, that is.

If there is an Achilles’ heel here, it’s the hot temperature of its underside when used for prolonged periods. Not a deal breaker, but worth bearing in mind.

PROS

  • Good performance
  • Affordable
  • Excellent 144Hz display
  • Sturdy build
  • Impressive battery life

CONS

  • Gets hot during intense use

4. MSI GS66 Stealth

best laptops for beamng drive

Check Price on Amazon

It’s impossible to argue that the MSI GS66 Stealth isn’t one of the best gaming laptops in the world: it’s hugely powerful under the hood, and outwardly classy.

The combination of Nvidia RTX 3080 and Intel Core i7-10850H make great bedfellows, making the MSI GS66 an impressive laptop for gaming. The 16GB of RAM on this outstanding gaming rig means that multitasking and playing demanding blockbusters, even at maxed-out settings barely slow things down.

On another important front, the GS66 Stealth’s Full HD display boasts an impressive 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms response rate. There are configurations with the same response time, however, with a 300Hz refresh rate.

That said, we feel less thrilled by the MSI GS66’s display brightness, which could be better.

In terms of physical size and weight, the GS66 Stealth (14.2 inches and 4.5 pounds) is a lightweight and easy travel companion. For comparison’s sake, the Gigabyte Aorus 5 (14.2 inches and 4.85 pounds), and Dell G5 15 SE (14.4 inches and 5.51 pounds) are heavier.

A respectable set of ports are located on either side of the laptop’s chassis. The right side features two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, a USB 3.2 Gen Type-C port, an input for Gigabit Ethernet and a headset jack. The left side holds another USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, a Thunderbolt 3 port, an HDMI 2.0 port and the power port.

Let’s not forget the MSI GS66 Stealth’s sublime audio system. The speakers on either side of the laptop offer audio that is loud, clean and rich.

A notable performance chop worth mentioning is the Reflex which reduces latency with the help of G-Sync tech.

Depending on the game you’re playing, the GS66 Stealth can offer framerates as high as 93 fps at 1080p.

We are impressed by MSI’s CoolerBoost technology which takes care of cooling GS66 Stealth’s internals. This technology does not remove heat completely, though.

The GS66 Stealth delivers strong battery life. You should get at least 6 hours on a charge. For superior battery power, consider the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 or Asus ROG Strix Scar III.

If you need a thin and light gaming laptop with solid internals, this is it. The MSI GS66 Stealth is highly recommended as one of the best laptops for BeamNG Drive.

PROS

  • Exceptional gaming performance
  • Fast 300Hz display
  • Sturdy
  • Sleek design
  • Good battery life

CONS

  • Display brightness could be improved

5. Asus TUF A15

best laptops for beamng drive

 Check Price on Amazon

If you’re on a budget and want an affordable gaming laptop for BeamNG Drive, this is it. The Asus TUF A15 is no slouch in the gaming department. In fact, it stacks up nicely to the competition.

Build quality is reassuringly good across the range.

It pairs the excellent AMD Ryzen 4000H mobile processors with an equally impressive Nvidia RTX 2060 graphics card.

The ASUS TUF A15’s gaming credentials are further established with a 15.6-inch 1080p display with 144Hz refresh rate. There’s a variant with a 60Hz refresh rate.

There are two colour choices you could choose from: Bonfire Black and Fortress Gray.

You’ll find all the ports that matter on the ASUS TUF A15. The left flank holds two standard USB ports, a USB-C port, an Ethernet port, a full-size HDMI out, and a power port. The opposite side has another standard USB port.

The biggest bummer is the noise coming from the fans during gaming. But get this: the fans keep the laptop cool. If the noise gives you pause, you can use the Silent mode, however, the performance will drop.

Here is a laptop that scores points not only for its unconventional internals but also for its battery life. Asus packed in a reasonable 90 watt-hours of battery capacity into the TUF A15’s chassis. Roughly speaking, you’re looking at about 13 hours of battery life.

So, basically, if you’re looking for an affordable gaming laptop with a solid build quality and performance, the ASUS TUF A15 should be near the top of your list.

PROS

  • Good AMD processors
  • Great bang for the buck
  • Excellent battery life

CONS

  • Loud fans

6. Asus ROG Strix G (2020)

best laptop for beamng drive

Check Price on Amazon

The 2020 Asus ROG Strix G is one of the best laptops for gaming, and chosen by our editors as one of the best laptops for BeamNG Drive right now.

The ROG Strix G weighs in at 5.8 pounds and has a 14.19 x 10.83 x 1.02-inch footprint.

It boasts an assortment of ports, thanks to its thickness. On this powerful gaming rig, you’ll find three USB 3.1 Type A ports, HDMI, one Ethernet, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack.

The combination of Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 and a blistering Intel Core i7-9750H CPU make great bedfellows, helping the 2020 Asus ROG Strix G blaze through most triple-A games and BeamNG Drive with aplomb.

Elsewhere, Asus tucked in a whopping 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD (Boot) + 1TB HDD into the ROG Strix G. These specs guarantee an outstanding and flawless performance. The SSD and HDD combo makes loading times of games a lot faster.

So you need not get anxious about running BeamNG Drive and games like PUBG  smoothly at ultra settings on the ROG Strix G. You should at least 50 fps when playing BeamNG Drive.

Again, with the impressive hardware, the laptop can handle any typical intensive workload when used as a work PC, too.

GameVisual, GameFirst V, ArmouryCrate, and Sonic Studio are some notable software you’ll find on the 2020 Asus ROG Strix G.

Even with all the awesomeness, there are a couple of things that raise an eyebrow all the same. The first is the fact that the speakers are not class-leading. The sound produced by the speakers is not as fantastic as what the MacBook Air, and Razer Blade Stealth parade.

Second, the display isn’t as crisp and colourful as most laptops in the price range, which is a slight shame. Nonetheless, the viewing angles are spot on.

Largely, it is one of the best laptops for BeamNG Drive.

PROS

  • Cool design
  • Fast processors
  • Excellent performance

CONS

  • Speakers won’t win awards

7. Dell G7 17 (2020)

best laptop for beamng drive

Check Price on Amazon

The Dell G7 is a capable laptop for BeamNG Drive. It packs tons of performance at a relatively reasonable price.

The laptop comes equipped with Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 graphics, 16GB of RAM, 256GB  SSD plus 1TB HDD. Additionally, the laptop ships with Intel Core i7-9750H processors. This configuration is adequate for gaming, specifically playing BeamNG Drive.

It has a very good display, which is comparatively on the level of the Dell XPS 13, the Razer Blade Stealth, and Apple MacBook Air.

The Dell G7 is 7.28 pounds and has a 15.9 x 11.6 x 7.28-inch footprint. It looks sleek, but is quite heavy.

On the left of the Dell G7, there’s one Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.1 Gen 1 and a headphone/mic jack. The right side has a 2-in-1 SD card reader and another USB 3.1 Gen 1.

The back of the Dell G7 holds the rest of the goodies, like the power adapter, an HDMI port, another USB 3.1 Gen 1, Mini DisplayPort, Ethernet and a noble lock slot. It’s worth noting that you can charge any gadget via the USB 3.1 Gen 1 Ports even when the Dell G7 isn’t on.

The G7 has an RGB keyboard, with lightning that can be adjusted just like the Razer Blade Stealth’s keyboard.

A minor gripe: the Dell G7 gets warm after heavy use most times.

The Dell G7 ships with Windows 10 and some other software like Mobile Connect, Alienware Command Center, SmartByte Diagnostics, Digital Delivery, and more.

Dell sells the G7 with a 1-year limited warranty.

The final thing we’ll be looking at in our Dell G7 review is battery life. You may not get a full 5 hours from the battery, but you’ll definitely get at least 3 hours on a single charge.

PROS

  • Good design
  • Good display with high refresh rate
  • Overall great performance
  • Good price for its features and performance

CONS

  • Audio could be improved
  • Average battery life

8. Razer Blade Pro 17

best laptops for beamng drive

Check Price on Amazon

The Razer Blade Pro 17 has a sharp, beautiful 17.3-inch Full HD display with a 144Hz refresh rate.

It comes with a solid combination of 9th Gen Intel Core i7-9750H processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q graphics, which guarantees nothing but the best gaming experience.

The Full HD model is equipped with and 512GB PCle NVMe storage which is upgradable to 2TB SSD. Both Full HD and 4K (UHD) models have 16GB of RAM.

Port selection on the Razer Blade Pro 17 is admirable. The left side holds two USB 3.2 Type-A Gen 2 ports, one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port. On the right side, you’ll find one USB 3.2 Type-A Gen 2 port, a headphone jack, an HDMI port, a provision for powering the laptop, an Ethernet port.

The best part of the port setup is the inclusion of an SD card reader. What is special about that? Well, we are impressed by the SD card reader because it facilitates UHS-III transfers at the speed of light.

Like some good gaming laptops on the market, the Razer Blade Pro 17 sports a responsive keyboard. The only major criticism we have concerning the keyboard has to do with up arrow key placement; which is between the shift keys and the forward key. You may trip up on it from time to time when using the keyboard.

That said, it lacks an important feature which many modern gaming laptops in the same league have, and that is a G-Sync feature. It is a shame, but not a deal breaker.

The minor gripe aside, the Razer Blade Pro 17 is strongly recommended as one of the best laptops for BeamNG Drive.

PROS

  • Durable
  • Excellent 144Hz display
  • Commendable design

CONS

  • Expensive

9. MSI GF65 Thin

best laptops for beamng drive

Check Price on Amazon

The MS GF65 Thin is a significant improvement on the MS GF63 with a more powerful processor, better display and a beefier GPU. It does however retain the same design as the GF63.

It is a capable gaming laptop that packs tons of performance at a relatively reasonable price.

Indeed it is one of the best laptops for BeamNG Drive, and can hold its own against the best gaming and non-gaming laptops such as the Dell XPS 13, the Lenovo Legion Y540, HP Pavilion 15, and the HP Spectre x360 in basically every metric.

The MS GF65 Thin has a decent selection of ports for gaming and streaming.

The ports on the right side are two USB 3.2 Type-A, one USB 3.2 Type-C, headphone jack, Kensington Lock, and Gigabit RJ-45. The left side holds an AC adapter, and HDMI.

At 0.85 inches (21.59 mm) thin, MS GF65 Thin is thick, however it is lightweight at 4.1 pounds (1.86 kg). For comparison’s sake, the Dell G7 and the Asus ROG Strix G (2020) weigh 5.5 pounds (2.5kg) and 7.28 pounds (3.30 kg) correspondingly.

To take care of cooling, MS GF65 Thin has heat pipes and an additional fan compared to the MS GF63.

MS GF65 Thin’s 51 Wh battery will last up to 5 hours on a single charge. When it runs dry, the charger can juice the powerful laptop back up from empty to full capacity in about 2 hours.

There is a minor trade-off — the fans are a bit noisy.

Either way, it’s well worth your while, seeing as it can push MeamNG Drive at the highest settings.

PROS

  • Superb graphics
  • Sleek design
  • Lightweight
  • Fast 120 Hz refresh rate
  • Bigger cooling feature

CONS

  • A bit loud when gaming
  • Lack HDMI
  • No G-Sync feature

10. Asus TUF Gaming FX 705

best laptop for beamng drive

Check Price on Amazon

The Asus TUF Gaming FX 705 is the 17-inch gaming rig to beat. Dominating the front is a decent 144Hz, 1920 x 1080 pixels panel which guarantees smooth, blur-free gaming experience.

It pairs an Intel Core i7-8750H processor with 512GB SSD storage and 16GB of RAM. The performance of the TUF Gaming FX 705 is way better than what we’d expect for a gaming laptop in this price range.

The 512 SSD makes booting times a lot faster. With hardware components tucked inside the Asus TUF Gaming FX 705, you’re sure of a lag-free play.

Again, with the laptop’s NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU and 6GB of VRAM, you can crush most modern AAA games at medium-to-high settings. We consider it a fantastic gaming laptop for its price. Little wonder it made our list of the best laptops for BeamNG Drive.

That’s not all, the Asus TUF Gaming FX 705 is loaded up with an fairly decent port selection. The left side features one USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet port, and HDMI. The right side holds a Kensington lock.

It’s worth noting, that the TUF Gaming FX 705 lacks a USB Type-C port. If you consider this a dealbreaker, you should probably lean toward the Legion Y520 which has one USB-C port.

As for battery life, the Asus TUF Gaming FX 705 should carry you through at least 4 hours of intense use without getting energy anxious.

A minor gripe: the touch pad. This isn’t as good a keyboard as you’ll find on the Apple MacBook Air, and the Lenovo Yoga C930.

Again the dual side-firing speakers — they won’t rock your world, but they are adequate for everyday listening.

Those complaints aside, the FX 705 is perfect for playing BeamNG Drive.

PROS

  • First rate performance
  • Excellent 144Hz display
  • Good keyboard
  • Affordable

CONS

  • Poor speakers

11. Lenovo Legion Y520 Gaming Laptop

best laptop for beamng drive

Check Price on Amazon

The Legion Y520 is a budget laptop with the right components (graphics, especially) for playing BeamNG Drive. It is a sturdy laptop, well-built with a colourful 15.6-inch Full HD panel.

The Y520 pairs a 2.8GHz Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor with 256GB SSD storage and 16GB of RAM. As for graphics, it is equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU.

With regard to weight, the laptop weighs in at 5.2 pounds, making it competitive with other gaming laptops. It is, however, heavier than GIGABYTE Aero 15W (4.62 pounds), MSI GS65 Stealth Thin (4.14 pounds), and ASUS ROG Zephyrus S Ultra Slim (4.63 pounds).

If you enjoy good sounds while playing games, the Lenovo Legion Y520’ s  audio quality will blow you away. The Harman-firing speakers are solid and pump out clear sound without any distortion.

Like the GIGABYTE Aero 15W, there are a respectable set of ports are located on the Legion Y520. The left side holds one USB 2.0 port, Ethernet, a power port plus a headphone jack. The right edge sports two USB 3.0 ports, one USB-C port, an SD card slot, HDMI. You won’t find a DisplayPort on the laptop.

You might be a bit disappointed with the red accent littered over the Y520. Even the keyboard backlighting is red. We don’t consider this off-putting.

PROS

  • Stylish design
  • Excellent keyboard with good travel
  • Powerful processors
  • Superfast

CONS

  • A touch of red accent everywhere

Bottom Line

The best laptops for BeamNG Drive we’ve recommended have pretty good internals: super-fast processors, ample storage, decent RAM and battery life. They have been carefully selected based on their outstanding performance.

These recommendations are not just for BeamNG Drive – the laptops are also perfect for anyone who needs superfast laptops that can crush most AAA games.
